Built 1956 for the Royal Danish Air Force with the serial E-408. She was sold back to Hawker Siddeley in 1974 and given the test registration G-9-436 for potential resale. With no buyer forthcoming, the ex-Danish Hunters were distributed around the UK and E-408 went to RAF Brawdy where she was allocated the RAF maintenance serial 8565M and put on display as a gate guard. She later moved to RAF Cranwell and I saw her there in October 1987 and October 1988. While at Cranwell she was painted as ‘XF979’ and coded ‘A’. She soon moved on and went to RAF Sealand by 1990 where she was repainted again and became ‘WT720’. Sold off in 2006, she spent ten years in private ownership before being bought by Rafi Razzak, Chairman of Centreprise International. He had the aircraft restored as a memorial to his father, Arif Abdul Razzak, and put on display at the company headquarters. Arif Abdul Razzak flew Hunters with 6 Squadron of the Royal Iraqi Air Force and would become the commander of the Iraqi Air Force in 1963.
