Yes, very subdued retirement. I did read somewhere that they are being sold as non-operational airframes, presumably all kit will be removed.
I also understood that the Americans were very interested in these and there was a lend back option to us should we have needed them in the future.
I did see them up close at Waddington and Fairford. Didn’t get too many photos of these, opportunity missed.
Dan Air BAC 1-11. Coffee machine was broken on way over to Malaga so we got free drinks from the Bar Trolley 🙂
Thanks mate. Worth the trip Chris, plenty of vantage points and when a deployment is under way there is usually daily activity.
Nice set. 😎
Hi Chris,
Thanks for your help.
Why does the picture not show on the page without clicking on the link. Are the others from another platform.
I give in 😎 no idea what is going wrong.

This is my first attempt to paste my photos from Flicker so bear with me.
Very much enjoyed the evening, so wish we could have had some more but not to be under present climate and weather.
Ok, Thanks for that. I will try to track its progress from St Athan.
Any idea if the BOAC Livery girl has been preserved.
Great, thanks for update.
I saw a tweet yesterday announcing that one will be leaving St Athan tomorrow (Thursday) landing at Dunsfold.
Angry with myself now as I have lost the thread and can’t find any more about it.
Does anyone have any more information about this please.
