The Boscombe Down Aviation Collection

The Boscombe Down Aviation Collection (BDAC) was initially opened in April 1999 within a Hardened Aircraft Shelter (TabVee) at the Boscombe Down military airfield. With the collection expanding and the dificulty of accepting visitors the decision was made to move to Old Sarum Airfield. Staying local to the military test airfield whose name they bear this new premises opened to the public in July 2012.

The collection is centred around the aircraft, vehicles associated with the Boscombe Down airfield, and its history of flight and flight testing which has been carried out there since 1939. Not all aircraft are from the test fleet that were based at the airfield but all will have been types evaluated at the airfield.

Please note the collection is closed on Mondays, and also 24, 25, 26th December and 1st January.
